Puppy Yoga in Dubai: What It’s Like to Join a Yoppy Session
At Yoppy, we believe wellness works best when joy is involved—and what brings more joy than a room full of playful puppies? That’s why we were so excited to see our Dubai sessions featured by What’s On Dubai, where writer Aarti Saundalkar joined one of our experiences and called it “a serotonin boost like no other.”
If you’re wondering what to expect at a Yoppy class, or just curious how puppy yoga really works, read on. Here’s a closer look at the session through the eyes of a first-time participant.
Stretching into Joy: The Yoppy Flow
In the article, Aarti shares her initial nerves about attending a yoga class—especially with some hesitation about her own flexibility. Describing herself as “a wooden toothpick,” she wasn’t sure what to expect. But like many first-timers, she found that Yoppy isn’t about being perfect on the mat. It’s about presence, openness, and fun.
The session began with a 20-minute yoga flow, led by our experienced instructor, Dima. The movements are beginner-friendly and grounding, designed to relax the body without pressure. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or new to the practice, our classes are inclusive and welcoming for all.
Enter the Puppies: 35 Minutes of Cuteness and Connection
After the initial stretch, it was time for the puppies to shine.
In Aarti’s session, the room quickly transformed into a playground of fluff and wagging tails. Puppies roamed freely, engaging with participants in their own unique ways. She shared sweet moments with a golden fluffball who curled up on her leg, a shih-tzu eager to play, and a spirited pug who had everyone laughing.
This 35-minute playtime is the heart of the Yoppy experience. Participants are free to continue their yoga practice or simply soak in the joy of being surrounded by rescue pups. There’s no structure here—just connection, smiles, and tail wags.
Ending with Calm: A 5-Minute Meditation
To close out the class, Dima guided participants through a short five-minute meditation. This calming moment helps ground the experience and leaves everyone feeling centered and restored—puppies included.
As Aarti noted, the aim isn’t to leave with sore muscles. It’s to leave with a smile—and based on her feedback, that goal was absolutely met.
Puppy Love That Serves a Purpose
At Yoppy, the joy you experience during a session extends beyond the yoga mat. Each puppy you meet is in need of a loving home. That’s why we carefully source our pups from ethical environments, including dog owners with litters and trusted kennels. These sessions offer valuable socialization that helps each puppy gain confidence and visibility, increasing their chances of being adopted.
We’re currently expanding our partnerships with shelters across the UAE to bring even more puppies into the program—and more joy into our community.
